Welcome to the St. Johns River Ferry
WE ARE A MEMBER OF THE EAST COAST GREENWAY BELT CONNECTOR
The St. Johns River Ferry is a car and passenger ferry that connects the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A in Duval County, linking Mayport Village and Fort George Island via a pleasant sail across the St. Johns River.
The 0.9 mile voyage crosses the St. Johns River 2.5 miles inland of the river’s mouth and departs every half hour.
Thank you for riding the St. Johns River Ferry! By doing so, you are helping to ensure the continued long-term operation of this important river crossing. The success of the ferry depends on ridership. Please ask your friends to ride the ferry as well, because every person counts!
Note: On January 5, 2016, the ferry will begin an inspection and overhaul as periodically required by the United States Coast Guard. Because the inspection and overhaul will require the ferry to be dry docked, the ferry will be out of service for six weeks. Normal daily service will continue through January 4th. We anticipate returning to normal daily service on February 18. The St. Johns River Ferry Commission very much appreciates your ridership and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this required inspection and overhaul. Please check the Jax Ferry app for future alerts and updates.
